BOWMORE acquires additional land package surrounding SANTA ELVIRA gold-copper skarn property in Chihuahua State, Mexico

Montréal, Québec – July 29th, 2009 – BOWMORE Exploration Ltd. (BOW: TSX-V, “The Company”) is pleased to announce that it has acquired an additional 12 claims totaling 2847 hectares surrounding the Santa-Elvira property on the Sierra Madre gold trend, located in northern Mexico, 160 km northwest of Chihuahua, the state capital. The total land package is called “ Paraje Azul”. It covers 2847 hectares and is part of the Company’s major expansion in the area. With the existing Santa-Elvira 563 hectare block, the total land holding is 3410 hectares. Paraje Azul covers direct extensions to the East, West and South of the Santa-Elvira property and contains areas prospective for additional gold-copper mineralization. The Company will further evaluate the potential of the recently acquired property after implementing the exploration program on Santa-Elvira.

Santa-Elvira update:

The Company has received permitting from the government for the construction and maintenance of the access road to the Santa-Elvira property. A D6H bulldozer has been on site for two weeks and has completed approximately 20km of road to date with approximately 4-5km of rougher terrain to complete. Construction of the access road is expected to be done in one week, after which the Company will implement and provide regular updates on the Phase One Santa-Elvira exploration program, which will consist of geological mapping, sampling and ground geophysics. Drilling is expected to commence in late August.
